Football is part of local life in Monteverdi Marittimo. The Campo Sportivo “Scirea”, located just outside the village in the direction of Canneto, is Monteverdi's main football ground and a venue for local matches, tournaments and occasional community events.

Rather than being a public playground, this is a real local football ground connected with organised sport in Monteverdi. When a match is taking place, visitors have a chance to experience another side of village life – come along, watch the game and support the local team.

The ground has even hosted matches of the international Viareggio Women’s Cup, showing that football here goes beyond purely recreational village sport.

🌻 Girasole Tip: If you see that a match is being played during your stay, go and have a look. Supporting the local team alongside people from Monteverdi is a very different Tuscan experience from the usual tourist attractions.

Non si tratta di un semplice campo pubblico, ma di un vero impianto dedicato al calcio organizzato locale. Quando c'è una partita, anche gli ospiti possono scoprire un altro aspetto della vita del paese: venite a vedere la partita e fate il tifo insieme agli abitanti di Monteverdi.

Il campo ha ospitato anche incontri della Viareggio Women’s Cup internazionale.

Monteverdi Marittimo is expanding its local sports and recreational facilities with a new municipal swimming pool.

The pool forms part of the municipal AGORÀ – Culture, Sport and Wellbeing in the Village project and is designed for recreational, physical activity and leisure use.

For a small Tuscan village, this is an exciting addition to the local sports infrastructure – creating another place for residents and visitors to stay active without leaving Monteverdi.
